Theology Thursday

Theology Thursday

Welcome to Theology Thursday: We present select Bible studies and sermons from Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church teaching from Scripture that:
- God is eternally free, inexhaustibly creative, and has existed from everlasting
- His main biblical attributes? He is living, personal, relational, good, and loving
- Proper hermeneutics flow not from Greek and Latin philosophy but from the primary biblical attributes of God
- The Bible explicitly affirms marriage and condemns moral relativism and all immorality including homosexuality
- As God is a person and created us in His likeness He expects us to stand for the personhood of the unborn
- God presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on the death penalty, in Bible's context of criminal justice
- The Bible is not a science text (for they have to be corrected all the time) but instead is scientifically accurate. Enjoy!

Theology Thursday: Jethro's Great Advice

Exodus Code: When a much more efficient and effective justice system was needed for the children of Israel to try criminals, it was Moses father-in-law Jethro who came to the rescue. A new system of judges was introduced by Jethro, adopted by Moses, implemented by Israel and approved by God.

 Today's ResourceExodus Code

On the day Moses delivered the Ten Commandments about three thousand souls died (Exodus 32:28). And on the day that God gave the Holy Spirit, about three thousand souls were saved (Acts 2:41). Explaining that contrast, Paul wrote that the law kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Cor. 3:6,7,17). That Law of the Ten Commandments is the basis of an entire criminal code revealed in Exodus. But it doesn?t end there. Contained within the document that convicts the world, Salvation is found. Join Bob for an insightful study that considers the deep meaning of the Exodus Code. Discover the unique style of Bob Enyart, and enjoy all of his teaching audios and videos.

Theology Thursday: Was Jonah Predestined to Disobey?

Disobedient Prophet: On today's Theology Thursday, Bob presents the story of Jonah from his verse by verse study of Jonah and Nahum. Jonah disobeyed God's command to go to Ninevah, then after God sent a large fish to swallow Jonah, he reluctantly obeyed. Did God predestine Jonah to disobey, get punished, then obey? You'll hear the answer in the this compelling study.

 Today's Resource: Jonah and Nahum

One of the most important events in Bible history occurs in the city of Joppa, twice. What is that event? And why did it happen twice? When God saw that the Assyrians repented at Jonah?s preaching, then God repented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon Nineveh, and He did not do it. How can this be? Later, Nahum warned Nineveh that if would fall just like the city of King Tut.
