Theology Thursday

Theology Thursday

Welcome to Theology Thursday: We present select Bible studies and sermons from Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church teaching from Scripture that:
- God is eternally free, inexhaustibly creative, and has existed from everlasting
- His main biblical attributes? He is living, personal, relational, good, and loving
- Proper hermeneutics flow not from Greek and Latin philosophy but from the primary biblical attributes of God
- The Bible explicitly affirms marriage and condemns moral relativism and all immorality including homosexuality
- As God is a person and created us in His likeness He expects us to stand for the personhood of the unborn
- God presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on the death penalty, in Bible's context of criminal justice
- The Bible is not a science text (for they have to be corrected all the time) but instead is scientifically accurate. Enjoy!

Theology Thursday: The Plot: The Law of Moses

The Plot: On today's Theology Thursday, we present part one of The Plot: The Law of Moses from the audio series based on the book The Plot by Bob Enyart. For the next several weeks we will present portions of the other Plot audios as well as The Plot Boys audio teaching series for kids.

The Bible Gets Easier to Understand:

Apparent contradictions plague many Bible students. The Plot demonstrates how hundreds of such contradictions disappear when the reader applies the big picture of the Bible to its details. Tunnel vision focuses so narrowly on a problem that the solution often lies just out of view. As the pastor of Denver Bible Church, Bob Enyart teaches Christians how to use the whole counsel of God to understand the plot of the Bible and solve biblical mysteries.

The Plot is available in book form or you can listen to the entire teaching series on MP-CD or MP3 downloads or get The Plot Boys for kids!

Theology Thursday: Our Five Senses

* Eternal Senses: Bob shows that our five sense are not only for life on this earth, but also for eternity in heaven.

God's Biblical Attributes 2-Blu-ray or DVD set

Today's ResourceGod's Biblical Attributes

You may have been told that the five primary attributes of God are immutability, impassibility, omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience. We refer to these as the Greek and Latin philosophical OMNIs and IMs. They are quantitative. However, the actual five biblical attributes of God are that He is living, personal, relational, good and loving. These are qualitative. And as we will see, quality trumps quantity.

Theology Thursday: 4/10 & The Culture

* Criminal Law: Bob explains that God gave the Ten Commandments to Israel, but four of the ten, God gave to every government of the world to be the foundation of their criminal code. Bob also shows that most Christian ministries today, no longer believe in God's standard as that foundation for criminal laws.

* Post-show note: "The young adult daughter of a good friend (and long-time BEL listener) just started a blog at wordpress.com, called The Heart of Hearts. The first two blogs are so encouraging!" - Bob Enyart

God's Criminal Justice System MP3

Today's ResourceGod's Criminal Justice System

Does the Bible support the death penalty before the crucifixion? How about after the crucifixion? The death penalty forms the centerpiece of the Gospel. The first and last books of the Bible deal with execution, as do the Old and New Testaments generally. Enjoy this presentation of God's ideas about criminal justice. Many Christians pray for an open door to share the Gospel with a friend. That door opens with every newscast, and with the reading of every newspaper, for those who benefit from God's Criminal Justice System.

Theology Thursday: Bob and a Liberal Pastor

*Liberal Church: Bob discusses his series of interviews with liberal Pastor Brian in this sermon at Denver Bible Church. Pastor Cox is an example of the many pastors who have been led astray by liberal seminaries in America. You can also hear the interview from 2005.

Theology Thursday: Bible Humor

God's Biblical Attributes 2-Blu-ray or DVD set* Ridiculing the Wicked: Bob shows that God often uses humor and mocking to rebuke the wicked. And check out kgov.com/nicer-than-god. Consider also while the Hebrews were camped at the sea and the Egyptian army was behind them, "the Lord said to Moses, 'Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward" (Ex. 14:15). The Scriptures inform us that God is capable of humor, irony, sarcasm, etc.

Theology Thursday: Fishers of Men

* Casting Your Net: The Gospel of Luke records Jesus telling Peter to cast his nets. The reward was substantial. In today's message Bob Enyart applies this lesson to encourage us to share the Gospel with those around us.

[Programming Note] * Kate Mulgrew Narrated Geocentrism Film: Early in 2014 Rick Delano, producer of The Principle, promised RSR that his documentary was about the big bang and not a movie on geocentrism. That misrepresentation led RSR to invite scientists and engineers to a special Denver screening of the film for Real Science Radio. We later apologized to the attendees. On the day of the film's Chicago premiere, October 24th, Bob Enyart and Fred Williams will discuss on air the scientific and biblical arguments below to rebut the documentary. We saw a full-length pre-release version of the film that claimed the Sun (and the universe) orbits around the Earth every 24 hours. The film attempted to mislead the audience into thinking that its geocentrism was supported by:
1) the latest Planck satellite confirmations of the so-called Axis of Evil
2) narrator Kate Mulgrew of Star Trek fame, and
3) the scientists interviewed (Lawrence Krauss, George Ellis, Michio Kaku, Max Tegmark, and John Hartnett).
None of these in anyway affirm the film's claim of geocentrism. For the enthusiast though, there's plenty of fun science to learn while refuting geocentrism as we shall see!

Theology Thursday: The Bible is a History Book

* Bible Credibility: The writer of the book of Luke wrote much of the history of the early church. In today's message from Luke 3, Bob explains that the history is true and why that is important.
