Theology Thursday

Theology Thursday

Welcome to Theology Thursday: We present select Bible studies and sermons from Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church teaching from Scripture that:
- God is eternally free, inexhaustibly creative, and has existed from everlasting
- His main biblical attributes? He is living, personal, relational, good, and loving
- Proper hermeneutics flow not from Greek and Latin philosophy but from the primary biblical attributes of God
- The Bible explicitly affirms marriage and condemns moral relativism and all immorality including homosexuality
- As God is a person and created us in His likeness He expects us to stand for the personhood of the unborn
- God presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on the death penalty, in Bible's context of criminal justice
- The Bible is not a science text (for they have to be corrected all the time) but instead is scientifically accurate. Enjoy!

Theology Thursday: Nehemiah the Builder

Reconstruction: From the book of Nehemiah, Bob presents the the beginning of the building project that was started to prepare Israel for the return of the Jews from captivity.

 Today's Resource: Nehemiah Bible Study

The Hebrew Scriptures, which are the original Old Testament, present Ezra and Nehemiah as only one book: Ezra. Why do the Christian editions of the Old Testament separate that book into Ezra and Nehemiah (which are otherwise identical to the Jewish text)? What did Israel rebuild first, the Temple or the wall of the city of Jerusalem? What was built first, God's house, or the houses of Jerusalem's citizens? And how does the story of Esther relate to the story of Nehemiah? What historical value does Nehemiah's story possess, and what spiritual lesson does this governor teach us? God had instructed the Jews to live separately from the Gentiles, and especially not to marry them. But what does that Mosaic Law of separation mean to the Body of Christ today, which is made up mostly of Gentiles?

Theology Thursday: Exodus Code Pt. 3

God's Criminal Justice System: Today we present the conclusion of a special 3-part Theology Thursday from Bob's verse by verse Bible study "Exodus Code" where God introduced His criminal justice system that is the pattern for every criminal code for every nation on earth.

 Today's ResourceExodus Code Bible Study

On the day Moses delivered the Ten Commandments about three thousand souls died (Exodus 32:28). And on the day that God gave the Holy Spirit, about three thousand souls were saved (Acts 2:41). Explaining that contrast, Paul wrote that the law kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Cor. 3:6,7,17). That Law of the Ten Commandments is the basis of an entire criminal code revealed in Exodus. But it doesn?t end there. Contained within the document that convicts the world, Salvation is found. Join Bob for an insightful study that considers the deep meaning of the Exodus Code.
