9th Day 59%! Openness Debate & Senate Hearing Debriefs

* Johnny from Compton CA: Caller Johnny heard the debate live between Bob Enyart and Pastor Gene Cook on the topic of Openness Theology, titled, "Is the Future Settled or open?" Hear Johnny's take on this fabulous debate! If you have any connection to Pastor Cook, we invite you to try to get the audio from today's debate. We've been unable to acquire it so far. Thanks! -A BEL Staffer

2017 Update -- Hear the Debate: Pastor Cook quickly removed the audio of the debate from his own website and we never were able to get the recording from him. Ten years later though, thankfully, one of our listeners, J.M., provided BEL with a copy of the audio! Clocking in at an hour and 50 minutes of fun discussion of God and His Word, we hope you enjoy this Cook vs. Enyart Open Theism Debate! And check out yesterday's program also!

* Senate Hearing on an Abortion Ban: Christians testified yesterday in favor of Senate Bill 143 introduced by Sen. Scott Renfro which would have prohibited abortion in the state of Colorado. Of course, if the life of the mother is threatened, the doctor should attempt to save the mother, and if at all possible, the baby also! Even in such a case, the goal of medical treatment would never be to kill the baby. Support for the bill was led by Brian Rohrbough, president of Colorado Right to Life, and powerful testimony also given by board members Lolita Hanks and Joseph Riccobono, and others including Ken and Jo Scott. Before voting to kill the bill, the Committee voted to amend it to permit the killing of a child whose father is a rapist."
