Bob Enyart discusses Barack Obama's bigoted comment against evolutionists by his use of the term, "flat earth society", the Pentagon's celebration of homos, and the destruction of the family by the Republican U.S. Supreme Court.
JUNE 26th UPDATE & CORRECTION: Bob, along with most Christian leaders, was correct in expecting today's opinion today's ruling to strike down (effectively) the federal Defense of Marriage Act. And striking down the Proposition 8 ban on homosexual marriage, Chief Justice John Roberts, joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan and Antonin Scalia found a technicality with which to reverse California's statewide vote that affirmed marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Correction: Bob failed to update his statistic when he said that six and a half Justices were nominated by Republicans, wrongly carrying over that statistic from 2010 prior to Elena Kagan being confirmed, which reduced the Republican contingent on the current U.S. Supreme Court to five and a half. The half? Sonia Sotomayor was nominated to the Federal District Court by a Republican president and then, in a bipartisan way, promoted to the Supreme Court in a bipartisan move by Democratic president.
Striking Down DOMA:
Republicans: Opinion written by Republican Anthony Kennedy and joined in by Sonia Sotomayor (1/2)
Democrats: Joined in by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor (1/2)
Striking Down California's Homosexual Marriage Ban:
Democrats: Opinion joined by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Bryer, and Elena Kagan
Republicans: Opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts and joined in by Antonin Scalia
* Ginsburg Replacement Post-show Update: After the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, anti-abortion abolitionists noted that even with the confirmation of an anti-Roe replacement jurist: "Supreme court history informs us that Roe’s reversal would still be unlikely. In 1992, the US supreme court was made up of eight Republican nominees, including three from Reagan and two from Bush. The lone Democrat nominee on the court was Justice Byron White who dissented in Roe v. Wade. So there were eight Republicans and a pro-life Democrat. The Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992) decision should have been a slam-dunk overturning of Roe. Yet even the ’92 court upheld legal abortion. The majority was made up entirely of Republican nominees."
