Today's Resource: Trading Genesis (for Secular Theories)

Pepperdine University in California has long enjoyed a reputation as a leading conservative Christian institution. Today, however, Pepperdine’s faculty teaches theistic evolution. Though affiliated with the Church of Christ, the theistic evolution of the school’s science and theology professors is indistinguishable from the methodological naturalism of the atheist.

In 2015, the administration denied a request by some Pepperdine alumni to present a lecture on biblical creation. Not deterred, both longtime and recent graduates organized their own creation-evolution conference on the school’s campus and advertised it in the Malibu Times newspaper.

The organizers invited Bob Enyart, the host of Denver-based Real Science Radio, to speak at the event held concurrently with the school's heavily-attended Bible Lectureship series. Enyart demonstrated with seven examples that the atheistic materialist worldview does not even have a theory of origins for anyone to side with. And thus, Pepperdine University has traded away special creation (and many other biblical teachings, also listed in this presentation) for absolutely nothing.

* Speaking of Curt Schilling: Curt is one of the Christians named on BEL's Superfluous List of "Christian Leaders" and "Conservative" Groups Going Gay. If he would like to be interviewed, we would be happy to have him here on BEL. Here is an email exchange between Curt, Doug, and Bob Enyart, in which Curt is judging Christians for judging homosexuals.

Shame on you Curt for allowing Milo Yiannopolous on your show and promoting him as a normal conservative.

In doing so, you did more in one hour to tempt young boys and men with homosexuality than a thousand Milo's in a thousand hours ever could have. And some of those young men and boys will be destroyed by the door you helped open for them.

Milo is celebrating his perversion of God's ordained sexual order. He is on his way to hell, and bringing others along. And you have endorsed his wickedness instead of warning him. ...

You my friend are one of the many reasons so few people want to seek Christ as their savior. You have the gall and belief that you can judge people ONLY because they sin differently than you. What on earth, or who on earth, do you think handed you that right?

I know many gay men who are stunning and amazing people as well as Christians. Their sins and their relationship with Christ is THEIRS and THEIRS ALONE. You should be ashamed. Jesus came for the sinner, not the saved, and asked us that want his eternal love to help
spread the word, not drench it. That you believe you know who is going to heaven and who is going to hell tells me all I need to know about your Faith and belief.
I'll pray you find the way before it is time. You answer for your sins, I'll answer for mine, and Milo, if he chooses Christ as his savior, will answer for his.
I'll pray you one day find stairs off that pedestal you think you're allowed to preach from.

Curt, hi. Homosexuals should make you sick. If they don't, it might be because you don't actually love them but instead are using them to show how great you are. Hillary's favorite Bible verse, "don't judge", applies to her but not to us. If you Google: should christians judge, you'll find our article on the first page, at kgov.com/judge. Also, you may want to check out kgov.com/nicer-than-god and kgov.com/homos.

Bob,
I don't need to Google, I read the same Bible you preach. I'm ashamed to hear that people given the IMMENSE responsibility you have been given would choose to twist and create the Bible and Christ doing things and saying things never done or said. I never heard or saw Jesus cast a Homosexual to hell. I saw him do some horrible things to many others but not once did he consign a homosexual OR prostitute to hell. Heck if I remember right,
John Chapter 8 verse 7 are not just the words of the Son of Man, but they are an edict, a lesson, to ALL of us.
"Let him who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her"
Which one of you perfect men is going to cast that stone on Milo? One of you might, not a single one of us have the right.
Remember it was NOT some, many, a few, almost everyone, just about all...
ALL FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD.
You are all in dire need of introspection and in my opinion a reassessment of your relationship with Christ.
None of you preaching this should feel deserving to speak God's word to a mass of people seeking to find the way.

Curt, you are so terribly wrong brother. Jesus rebuked, mocked, condemned, only those who He loved, and while some turn to Him with much gentler prodding, others refuse and so the strong rebuke and tough love is an important God-given tool to reach them.

Really, if you were to read  kgov.com/judgekgov.com/nicer-than-god, and kgov.com/homos, and you replied to me that you learned nothing from Scripture, I'll send $1000 to the charity of your choice.

I'll continue this conversation when you quote Jesus, no one else, Jesus, and his explanation that homosexuality is a sin you go to hell for. Or where Jesus tells a homosexual they CANNOT be a follower of Christ.
You do that, and let's continue. If you can't, my point stands and this conversation is over. Not grey area, no ambiguity, Jesus defined sinners for ALL of us, tell me which part were homosexuals separated from you, a sinner, me, a sinner, and every other sinner on this thread.
If a homosexuals sin keeps them from hell why doesn't your adultery keep you from it as well? Or mine? Or are we each allowed to ask for forgiveness and his Love according to OUR lives and our relationship with Him?
Curt

Hi Curt,

Of course Jesus Himself did, in red letters no less, directly and harshly rebuke homosexuals specifically. But if you haven't read those articles, you may have missed it because the church suffers from its nicer-than-god complex and thinks that we are being nice if we minimize or outright ignore Jesus' criticism of various groups of people.

I know you realize that, based on the standard that you've come up with, we'd have a hard time saying that making child pornography is a sin, since we can't quote Jesus and his explanation that it's a sin, or show that anyone might go to hell for it. While I have no doubt that you seek to love your neighbor and to serve the Lord, that argument of yours does not proceed from such desires. You think that by being nice to the sexually perverse, that you are maximizing the likelihood that some of them will turn to the Lord. But your thinking is wrong. And it's easy to figure out why you would think this. We human beings tend to make comfort an idol. So, by thinking that you don't have to confront homosexuals, you are easing your own conscience, at their expense.

Curt, I've had the incredible privilege from the Lord to lead many homosexuals to Him. One amazing example was written up by a (harshly secular) Colorado newspaper, and another even more stunning conversion to Christ was captured, unexpectedly, on nationally television. (I could send you a DVD of that, but you really should read those articles first. They are kgov.com/judgekgov.com/nicer, and kgov.com/homos.)

In Christ,

Curt:

Although quoting Jesus on a specific sin is not required the make the case...

First Jesus:

Mark 7 - What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

Homosexuality is one form of fornication/adultery, (the most egregious kind)

Then Paul.

Rom 1 - And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness... ...who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

We are all sinners, but we do not celebrate and encourage those sins. In Christ we overcome sin. We come to Christ via the condemnation of the law.

We warn the lost that they need repentance in Christ. We do not put them on the air with no rebuke.

How will Milo know to choose Christ if you do not warn him of his condemnation? (And of course you can do that in private).

But celebrating him on the air further normalizes his open, proud homosexuality and removes even further the social stigma of this particularly virulent sin.

You have not helped Milo Curt. It is as if you have heaped coals upon his head, while normalizing a pervert in the minds of the culture.

For that you should be ashamed.

Doug McBurney
