National RTL's Coalition is Shrinking

* World Mag, KKLA, WND & Townhall : are all helping spread the word that the partial-birth abortion ruling will not save a single innocent life. And also, Dr. James Dobson has threatened in a NY Times editorial to oppose any pro-choice Republican presidential candidate. National Right To Life must be feeling increasingly lonely these days.

* World Magazine: October 6, 2007 article subtitled, "Abortionists use lethal injections as an end run on partial-birth abortion ban" reports "Some pro-life organizations, including the American Life League and Human Life International, warned of the loophole [this is accurate enough for WorldMag, but it wasn't a loophole, lethal injection was explicitly recommended by the PBA ruling] and published ads attacking the ban after the Supreme Court decision. Those ads called the ban a 'partial-birth abortion manual.' Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion on the decision: 'If the intact D&E procedure [~PBA] is truly necessary in some circumstances, it appears likely an injection that kills the fetus is an alternative under the Act...'"

* WorldNetDaily: 'Personhood' silver bullet? article reminded readers of our PBA "advertising campaign that was critical of other pro-lifers for their praise for the U.S. Supreme Court's partial birth abortion decision... [with] the American Life League [arguing] that the court ruling actually would not prohibit a single abortion. That argument has been raised to a new level now..."

* KKLA's Frank Pastore on Townhall.com : " ...I talked with attorney Robert Muise of the Thomas More Law Center... he argues that the recent "victory" restricting partial birth abortion has in fact not saved a single life, it's only changed the type of procedure used to take the lives of those already destined for abortion. ... Welcome to the debate within the pro-life movement between those who support the National Right to Life and their desire to kick the field goal of keeping abortion "safe, legal, and rare" until a more opportune time to challenge Roe, and those who support the Thomas More Law Center who want to go for the touchdown-and the win-of ending abortion..."

* Dr. James Dobson's 3rd-Party Threat: Similar to his threat seven years ago that led George W. Bush to select "family-friendly" Dick Cheney as a running mate (who opposed the marriage protection act in favor of allowing states to permit homosexual marriage), now Dr. Dobson has written in the New York Times that: "If neither of the two major political parties nominates an individual who pledges himself or herself to the sanctity of human life, we will join others in voting for a minor-party candidate. ... Polls don't measure right and wrong; voting according to the possibility of winning or losing can lead directly to the compromise of one's principles . In the present political climate, it could result in the abandonment of cherished beliefs that conservative Christians have promoted and defended for decades. Winning the presidential election is vitally important, but not at the expense of what we hold most dear . The secular news media has been reporting in recent months that the conservative Christian movement is hopelessly fractured and internally antagonistic." And on Hannity and Colmes on Oct. 8, Dr. Dobson recommitted himself to his Rally for Life pledge made in Washington D.C. in 1990, to never support any effort that will intentionally "kill one innocent baby." These wonderful sentiments would mean more if Dr. Dobson would expose the "pro-life" regulations, judges, rulings, candidates and presidents who violate these fundamental principles. For example, by Dr. Dobson's own pledge, he could not have voted for George W. Bush, but he leads his audience to believe that of course he voted for President Bush, who he calls the most pro-life president in history.

Today's Resource: Enjoy reading the same information in Bob's life's work, the best-selling manuscript, The Plot! Apparent contradictions plague many Bible students. The Plot demonstrates how hundreds of such contradictions disappear when the reader applies the big picture of the Bible to its details. Tunnel vision focuses so narrowly on a problem that the solution often lies just out of view. As the pastor of Denver Bible Church, Bob Enyart teaches Christians how to use the whole counsel of God to understand the plot of the Bible and solve biblical mysteries.
