* Wilberforce Biographer to March for Life: (Re-aired in Colorado during the March for Life. The March for Life audio was aired on Denver's popular KRKS Christian radio station bringing Eric's message to thousands!) Eric Metaxas and Bob Enyart celebrate the Christian heroes Dietrich Bonhoeffer and William Wilberforce in advance of Colorado Right To Life flying Metaxas to Denver to speak at the Capitol at noon on January 22, 2009! Wilberforce worked for 46 years to end slavery and annoyed almost everyone around him, Christian and unbeliever, until he finally abolished slavery! Bonhoeffer's sermons became increasingly defiant of the National Socialists and church leaders who compromised with immoral political leaders and was executed after two years in a German prison. Slavery, the Holocaust, and abortion: two down and one to go! Metaxas and Enyart drew lessons from the Christians fighting against the NAZIs and slavery to encourage everyone to press on spreading the Gospel to defeat those who advocate the killing of unborn children.
* Dietrich Bonhoeffer: In 1930 Bonhoeffer said of NYC's Union Theological Seminary: "At this liberal seminary the students sneer at the fundamentalists in America, when all the while the fundamentalists know far more of the truth and grace, mercy and judgment of God." Back in Germany, Bonhoeffer suggested that church leaders worry less about converting Hitler, and more about whether they themselves were converts. Jesus condemned the Herodians, the political party of His day, the way Bonhoeffer condemned Christian leaders who defended wicked politicians.
