* Statistical Overview and Methodology: Both Testaments of the Christian scriptures directly reference creation. Forty percent of the Bible's books, 26 out of 66 (a third of the books in the Old Testament and almost half of those in the New) affirm special creation. As documented below, thirteen books in both testaments reveal God as the Creator. Other books make indirect creation references, with examples of such appended below in a separate list. Sixty six of the Bible's 1,189 chapters, or six percent of them, directly reference creation. What constitutes a "passage" is arbitrary. We divide this list into 78 creation passages such that the continuous verses of Gen. 1:1-2:24 constitute a single passage. Yet we count Psalm 104:2-30 as six separate passages because non-creation verses divide those 29 into six segments. (We include an intervening verse if it continues the context to show that a final verse in a passage is also directly related to creation.) Also, as discussed below, as many as ten of these passages, marked with bold emphasis, have allusions to the global flood. RSR sees this motif as a divine perspective on the cohesiveness of the Bible's first chapters. The global flood, though not a ticking time bomb, was also not an afterthought. The waters reserved for judgment until if and when needed were among God's design considerations. Finally, there are 208 individual verses that directly reference creation.

If you would like to help finalize this list, you could double check too confirm every number in the above paragraph and then email  Bob@rsr.org. Also, while we believe this list is comprehensive (with verses from the NKJV unless otherwise indicated), please feel free to suggest a verse we may have missed and we'll either add it to the main list or to the Indirect Creation References below. Thanks!

* Creation Passages with Allusions to the Flood: The bold emphasis in the scriptures above highlights possible global flood references,   either in contingency or aftermath, contained within these ten creation passages:
- Job 38:4-11
- Ps. 33:6-7
- Ps. 104:2-10
- Prov. 8:22-31
- Isa. 45:6-9
- Jer. 4:23-26
- Amos 9:6
- 2 Peter 3:5
- Rev. 14:7

- Genesis Days 2 & 3 (if rsr.org/raqia is valid, then include Gen. 1:6-10)
If these ten creation passages actually do allude to the global flood (of course by inspiration of the Holy Spirit) this could be because of the flood's connection to God's Day 2 and Day 3 actions which provided for the contingency of that global catastrophe. This would emphasize the flood as an architected judgment rather than an ad hoc intervention. Miracles such as Elisha's floating axe head and Jesus turning water into wine, meaning no disrepect of course, in this context could be considered ad hoc in that they do not trace back to specific actions described in the creation week. However, if rsr.org/raqia (the Day 2 firmament of the Earth's crust) and the fountains of the great deep rsr.org/hydroplate-theory of the global flood are basically correct, then God would see a connection between the creation and flood. This deep connection would explain the tendency for flood reminiscents to appear in the first nine creation passages listed just above and a foreshadowing of the fllood to appear in the last.

* More Possible Allusions and "No Sea": See also the underlined emphasis in five other passages above, Job 26:5-13; Ps. 95:5-6; Isa. 42:5; Jer. 10:11-16; and Rev. 21:1. The Bible practically concludes saying about the New Earth that on it, "there was no more sea", that is, no oceans. This is completely understandable from the perspective of the fountains of the great deep model of the global flood called the hydroplate theory. For as understood by Dr. Walt Brown's theory, the original earth had large seas, however the ocean basins themselves were formed from the cataclysm of the flood. So of course, because God didn't do a less-than-perfect job in creating the original Earth, the re-created New Earth will be a paradise very much like the original creation. And separately, see Psalm 74 for possiblle conflation of creation, flood, and Exodus concepts.

- RSR's Stretch Cosmology builds on the Bible's statements, eleven times in five of its books, that God stretched out the heavens (Job 9:8; Ps. 104:2; Isa. 40:22; 42:5; 44:24; 45:12; 48:13; 51:13; Jer. 10:12; 51:15; & Zech. 12:1).

For consideration: EARTH, PILLARS OF THE (עַמּוּדִ֖ים, pillarscolumns, from Zondervan via Bible Gateway). "A poetic expression occurring only twice. Job 9:6 speaks of the trembling of the earth's pillars during an earthquake. In Psalm 75:3, there is also an 'adjustment' of the pillars at the dissolving of the earth. Heaven’s pillars 'tremble' at the rebuke of God (Job 26:11). Some scholars insist that these references must mean that the Hebrews conceived of a world supported by literal pillars. A more general sense of 'rocky foundations' is more probable. They, also, are said to tremble (Isa 24:18)."
