Theology Thursday

Theology Thursday

Welcome to Theology Thursday: We present select Bible studies and sermons from Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church teaching from Scripture that:
- God is eternally free, inexhaustibly creative, and has existed from everlasting
- His main biblical attributes? He is living, personal, relational, good, and loving
- Proper hermeneutics flow not from Greek and Latin philosophy but from the primary biblical attributes of God
- The Bible explicitly affirms marriage and condemns moral relativism and all immorality including homosexuality
- As God is a person and created us in His likeness He expects us to stand for the personhood of the unborn
- God presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on the death penalty, in Bible's context of criminal justice
- The Bible is not a science text (for they have to be corrected all the time) but instead is scientifically accurate. Enjoy!

Predestination & Free Will Intro

Predestination or Free Will: So much is at stake when people consider predestination and free will. Strong emotions often surface with a discussion of this topic. That passion points to our critical need to understand the truth regarding whether or not God has predetermined who will go to heaven and who will go to hell.

Also, the question of whether or not God has planned out each person’s life affects us. Does God have a plan for your life? Does a blueprint exist for your future? Did God predetermine whether or not you would get married, and to whom? Did God plan whether you would be wealthy or poor, happy or sad? If God does plan your life, does He do so in minute detail or in general themes? If God has a plan for your life, are you able to alter that plan? This topic directly influences people concerning how they live their lives. As Christians, we must seek God to accurately portray the LORD to others. For any misrepresentation of God will dishonor Him and perhaps bring harm to those misled.

The topics are: Is Calvinism Biblical? and Is the Future Settled or Open? (The host for these events, reformed believer David New, removed both of these debates from his site. We've rescued the first and put it back online, and Lord-willing we'll recover the second one.

Christian Worldview

In this sermon Bob shows how your world-view has a domino-effect on issues as diverse as animal rights, abortion, eternal life, homosexual marriage, premarital sex, no-fault divorce, and why the Christian world-view has advanced science.

Genesis Anew

Mysteries solved: How was there night and day before the creation of the sun? Where did all that water come from for the Flood? Why did the waters continue to rise for many weeks after the rain stopped? Who was Peleg and why is his mention in the Bible significant to us understanding why the earth is how it is today? These questions answered and more on today's Theology Thursday.

Defending God's Honor

For the Defense: God's righteous character is slandered by many unbelievers. Sadly, God's honor even needs to be defended against the attacks of some Christians.
