On Tonight's Blood Moon and John Hagee

Bob Enyart guesses that nothing special will occur as a result of tonight's lunar eclipse, talks about televangelist John Hagee making a big deal out of them, and about how common such occurrences are, including their coming in sets of four eclipses. (You may also enjoy our Blood Moons interview with Christian astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner!) Also, and sadly, Bob corrects Hagee's terrible teaching that the Jews do not need to trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, and also, bizarrely, that Hurricane Katrina was divine judgment specifically for the homosexual's Southern Decadence event in New Orleans, except that the hurricane hit prior to the event, missed the French Quarter, and killed minorities and the poor but, apparently, sparred all the homosexuals.

Jews Who Reject Christ and TV Preachers OK With That

-By Pastor Bob Enyart

Various televangelists, including John Hagee, promote the false teaching that Jews can reject Christ and still have salvation. A friend of mine runs one of the larger Christian TV networks and began succumbing to this false teaching. So I gave him a gift of both the Jewish New Testament and the Tanakh, along with a listing of the following quotes, directly from these Jewish translations of Scripture. The teaching that Jews can reject the Messiah and have eternal life is contradicted directly by the claims of Jesus Himself, and by the apostles, and even by the Hebrew Scriptures.

So these quotes do not come from typical English language translations of the Bible, but appropriately, from specifically Jewish translations into English: from the Jewish New Testament and from the Old Testament Tanakh.

"... Do you know who will accuse you? Moshe [Moses], the very one you have counted on! For if you really believed Moshe, you would believe Me; because it was about Me that he wrote. But if you don't believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?" - Jesus, Jewish New Testament, John 5:45-46

"Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Beit-Tzaidah [Bethsaida]... And you, K'far-Nachum [Capernium]... you will be brought down to Sh'ol [hell]... whoever rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me." JNT Luke 10:13-16

Those who trust in him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judge already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God's only and unique Son. JNT John 3:18
They answered him, "Our father is Avraham."... Yeshua [Jesus] replied to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me... Why don't you understand what I'm saying? Because you can't bear to listen to my message... JNT Yochanan (John) 8:39, 42-43

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet from among your own people, like myself; him you shall heed... Tanakh Torah Deuteronomy 18:15

And God himself continued:

"I will raise up a prophet for them from among their own people, like yourself: I will put My words in his mouth and he will speak to them all that I command him; and if anybody fails to heed the words he speaks in My name, I myself will call him to account. Tanakh Torah Deuteronomy 18:18-19
