Theology Thursday

Theology Thursday

Welcome to Theology Thursday: We present select Bible studies and sermons from Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church teaching from Scripture that:
- God is eternally free, inexhaustibly creative, and has existed from everlasting
- His main biblical attributes? He is living, personal, relational, good, and loving
- Proper hermeneutics flow not from Greek and Latin philosophy but from the primary biblical attributes of God
- The Bible explicitly affirms marriage and condemns moral relativism and all immorality including homosexuality
- As God is a person and created us in His likeness He expects us to stand for the personhood of the unborn
- God presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on the death penalty, in Bible's context of criminal justice
- The Bible is not a science text (for they have to be corrected all the time) but instead is scientifically accurate. Enjoy!

Theology Thursday: What I Know

No Doubt: What can you know about God for certain? Today Bob explains that while there are things in our lives that we may have doubts about, there are also many things about God that we can know.

Theology Thursday: Exercising Your Senses

Right and Wrong: This week Bob presents a message from chapter two of his study of 1 Peter. How do we keep ourselves in spiritual shape to clearly understand what is right and what is wrong?

 Today's Resource1 & 2 Peter

Meet the Apostle Peter in this important Bible study. Have you considered why Peter addresses his letters to no well-known recipients? Rather, similarly to James, John, and Jude, he sends them generically to the circumcision believers scattered abroad. Why? Meanwhile, Peter mentions the Apostle Paul, who addresses his epistles to many well-known leaders and specific regional churches. Teacher Bob Enyart demonstrates that understanding the big picture of the Bible, its plot, helps to see even such small books as First Peter and Second Peter in their proper perspectives. Such biblical observations go a long way toward explaining the differences between Peter and Paul. For as Peter himself wrote of, "our beloved brother Paul" who "has written to you as also in all his epistles? in which are some things hard to understand?"

Theology Thursday: What is a Legalist?

Legalism: In today's study from Luke, Bob shows us that the religious leaders of Jesus day elevated their own legalism over love. We also learn how many Christians are still doing this today and why is so damaging to the Body of Christ.

Theology Thursday: The Hidden Truth

Luke 19: In this week's episode of Theology Thursday, we hear of Jesus triumphal entry and then his cleansing of the temple. Bob explains that Jesus chose to reveal himself to those who had ears to hear while at the same time His message remained hidden to those whose hearts were hard.

Theology Thursday: Answering Dishonest Questions

Corrupt Leaders: Following the cleansing of the Temple, the religious leaders came to Jesus to question Him, but their questions were not sincere and they weren't intended to help the leaders learn the truth. Bob presents today's message from the Gospel of Luke.

Theology Thursday: Our Enemies Vanquished

Politics: Each election cycle we have politicians asking for our votes. As Christians, what should be our standard for who we endorse in the election? In this message from Psalm 9, Bob helps to clarify that for us.
