* Real Science Friday with Spike Psarris: On this special edition of RSF, Bob Enyart talks with the host of the stunning DVD, What You Aren't Being Told About Astronomy, Spike Psarris, former engineer with the U.S. military space program. First, Discover magazine blogger evolutionist Phil Plait accused Psarris, of CreationAstronomy.com, of being deceptive because he uses the term "evolution" to describe naturalistic astronomy for, as Plait wrote, "evolution has nothing to do with astronomy." Now, he criticized Real Science Friday for our report on the spat, which included this comment: "Spike knocks it out of the park by showing the covers of nine astronomy texts, each one with the word evolution in their titles, such as Solar System Evolution." Psarris and Enyart also discuss the circular reasoning of atheists trying to account for the origin of the universe and life on earth.

* Stephen Hawking's Circular Reasoning Exposed: Not as though that was difficult however. Hawking claims that in the Big Bang the laws of physics produced the universe, even though the Big Bang claims those laws did not exist prior to the Big Bang. And Hawking says, for example, that the matter of the universe came from energy borrowed from the gravitational energy of the universe, to which Enyart asks, "What universe?" If you're explaining the origin of the universe, you cannot appeal to the universe itself. Honorable mention is also given to Hawking's ideas that people should avoid talking to aliens, and also that to escape global warming, the end-of-the-world doomsday prophet atheist astrophysicist wants mankind to go to the Moon or Mars, evidently forgetting that the Moon's daytime temperature is over 200 degrees (107 C) and that neither location has liquid water or oxygen. The Sun is Earth's source of global warming, and because Mars is 50 million miles further from our Sun, its temperature ranges from 1 degree F down to 178 below! So mankind should flee from a temporary one degree fluctuation in the Earth's temperature into about 200 degrees, above and below zero, and say good-bye to liquid water and oxygen. And if global warming is really so threatening to mankind, why does Hawking overlook the more logical safe havens of Antarctica, Greenland and Siberia?

* Personhood Pro-lifer Gunned Down in Michigan: Jim Poullion, Christian pro-life activist with Flip Benham's Operation Save America and fellow worker and friend of Cal Zastrow, Personhood USA and Michigan Citizens for Life, was murdered this morning by a 33-year old Michigan man angered by anti-abortion signs. Jim was holding a poster-sized photo of a baby boy, Jeremy Trewhella, emblazoned with the single word LIFE in front of the Owosso High School when he was killed by Harlan Drake, whom the police later arrested after Drake had murdered another person. The poster carried by Poullion, ubiquitous at pro-life events, is of the son of pro-life hero and personhood advocate Matt Trewhella, longtime director of Missionaries to the Preborn.

* RSF & Paleontologist Jack Horner: Listen in as RSF co-hosts Bob Enyart and Fred Williams enjoy the Summer 2009 Creation magazine and the two air Bob's recorded conversation with paleontologist Jack Horner, curator at Montana State University's Museum of the Rockies, who excavated that soft-tissue T-Rex! Bob offered Jack Horner a $23,000 grant (see grant letter below).

* Motors in 'Simple' Cells Synchronized! Yes, according to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, not only do 'simple' cells have outboard motor-like flagella but it turns out, they are coordinated so that they can pull in one direction, switch into reverse, and then pull forward again! God is amazing!

* Hear Bob Enyart & Jack Horner: Taking Fred's suggestion the co-hosts aired Bob's fascinating phone conversation with Jack Horner who is the real-life person whom the Jurassic Park scientist John Hammond is modeled after. And sure enough, Jack is the scientist who excavated the soft-tissue T-Rex! (He's also the evolutionist who's trying to coax chickens to grow dinosaur tails.) Bob offered Jack Horner $23,000 to Carbon 14 date the specimen (see the grant offer below). Jack said that he would speak to Mary Schweitzer, but he ultimately turned down the offer :( .

* Bob Debates Ph.D. Evolutionist Eugenie Scott: An avid anti-creationist vs. Bob Enyart. The debate is decided in the first round, by TKO. That’s after Bob asked the well-known scientist for any evidence that any high level function had ever evolved, like eye sight, or hearing, or flight, or mobility in general? Through the hour-long debate, this evolutionist refused to offer any such evidence.

* Eugenie Flubs Genetics Prediction, Bob Hits the Bull's-eye: The evidence Eugenie did offer was Junk DNA. This scientist, from her Darwinist worldview, made a philosophical argument that a Creator would not fill our DNA with mostly junk. (Unlike the relatively few gene segments that code for the 20,000 proteins in the human body, the widespread evolutionary claim of the 1990s was that the rest of the genome had no function and so was called Junk DNA.) Bob, the Christian fundamentalist, answered from his biblical worldview, that our knowledge of genetics was in its infancy, and that it was too early to make the determination that all those non-coding segments of DNA had no function. After this 1998 debate, the next decade of explosive genetic discoveries overwhelmingly validated this creationist perspective, so much so that aside from coding for 20,000 proteins, it is estimated that the remainder of the genome has approximately one million other functional regulatory segments of DNA. So much for junk. Fulfilled predictions, as the world saw with Einstein, go toward scientific credibility. However, Dr. Scott strongly rejected this creationist prediction making an extraordinary claim, which Bob immediately offered her to retract, that scientists currently knew everything they would ever need to know about genetics to conclusively state that all those regions were useless junk. Bob would love a rematch. But Eugenie Scott, (Ph.D. in Physical Anthropology, leading anti-creationist, and director of the National Center for Science Education), who had just debated evolution on a nationwide PBS television program, ended this one-hour program with Bob stating, "Well, I don’t debate."

* Bob Enyart Interviews a National Asset: Jim Burr is recognized throughout the world for his achievements in telescope design and manufacturing, including finally, after 400 years making binocular telescopes available to astronomers and amateurs alike! David Levy, co-discoverer of the famous Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet that crashed into Jupiter, says that Jim Burr's binocular telescopes are the greatest improvement to the concept of the telescope since Galileo!

* The Sun, the Moon, the Formation of Stars: Hear Bob and Jim describe how it is that Big Bang cosmologists cannot explain the existence of our Moon, of our Sun, of our Sun's lack of rapid rotation, of the formation of a star, and of so many other features of our solar system and of galaxies. Scripture on the other hand says that the stars are innumerable, like the grains of the sand, even though in the ancient world, like today, only about 5,000 stars were visible to the naked eye, whereas astronomers now estimate that there are 70 (or more) sextillion stars, that's a 70 with 22 zeroes after it. And if all the stars in the heavens really being formed naturally, then millions of new stars should still be coming into existence (many of which would become visible to Earth) every hour, but that's just not happening. So where are all the photos showing portions of space where there was no star, and now there is a star? The truth is that, "In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth... and He made the stars also," (Gen. 1).
