On the Re-publicans
Six Talking Points re: publicans
by Bob Enyart
- The California 9th Circuit Judge who wrote the anti-pledge decision was appointed by a Republican president.
- The United States District Judge who said the convicted pedophile had a first amendment right to give balloons to little kids in a park was appointed by a Republican president.
- The U.S. Supreme Court is pro-abortion and pro-homosexual even though Republican presidents appointed 7 of its 9 justices.
- To fill a Supreme Court opening, G. W. Bush is said to favor pro-abortion Alberto Gonzalez, whom he had put on the Texas Supreme Court, and later appointed as his White House Legal Counsel.
- With all the Republican political success, Planned Parenthood still received $60M in tax dollars in 2002 via Title X funding, reminiscent of G. Bush Sr. smiling while he signed over one billion dollars to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
- Even the most "pro-life" of Republican-appointed U.S. Supreme Court justices say that if state legislatures pass pro-abortion laws, abortion would then be properly legal. That's not pro-life, that's pro-choice, state by state.
I've got a real problem with the Republican Party. How about you?
